According to Apostle Comrade Ezekiel Daniel, an attempt was made on his life in the early hours of Monday, 27 July 2026, at his residence in Abuja.
Narrating the incident, Ezekiel said that at about 2:00 a.m., he observed four men dressed in black with their faces covered moving around his residence.
He claimed he overheard them asking an informant and point man if they had arrived at the correct location. According to him, the informant confirmed, saying, "Yes," after which the four men began whispering among themselves.
Ezekiel further claims that he later received information from what he described as reliable sources, claiming that the men were allegedly sent by Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.
He alleged that after conducting surveillance on his residence, there were plans to return later this week, specifically on Thursday, to attack his home and assassinate him while disguising the incident as an act of banditry amid the country's security challenges.
He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the IGP, the DSS Director-General, Tosin Ajayi, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and the international community, saying he had already alerted them to the alleged threat. He added that Tompolo should be held responsible if anything happens to him.
Addressing Niger Delta ex-agitators and supporters of his campaign, Ezekiel maintained that no threat or intimidation would stop his advocacy. He insisted that his campaign would continue until what he described as Tompolo's illegal prisons are dismantled by the Federal Government and the delegates' stipends are increased, arguing that such an increase is their right.
In recent weeks, Apostle Comrade Ezekiel Daniel, a former insider and media aide to Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has made a series of public claims against the former militant leader, accusing him of various crimes against Niger Deltans.
Ezekiel believes the alleged plot against his life is connected to his recent disclosures.
