“Shoot at sight, I commend you, Chief, for standing by your fellow ex-agitators and leaders. The era of wicked and oppressive Tompolo using divide-and-rule tactics is gone. His peace deal is fake; ignore it,” Apostle Ezekiel Daniel said.

According to Apostle Ezekiel Daniel, Tompolo has caused serious damage to the unity of the Ijaw people and ex-agitators, from the leadership level down to the boys. He alleged that Tompolo would turn one person against another and create divisions for selfish reasons and to maintain control over everyone.

Apostle Ezekiel Daniel also described the INC Unity Day in Bayelsa State as a jamboree, arguing that there can be no genuine unity in the Ijaw nation until certain issues are properly addressed.

“Tompolo no longer cares about the interest of the Ijaw people,” Apostle Ezekiel Daniel said. He alleged that the reported kidnapping of Balamene Karowei and Charles Korubo from Bayelsa State, as well as the alleged detention of other Ijaw people in a private prison, represents, in his words, “the height of wickedness” witnessed in the Ijaw nation.

He further alleged that Tompolo has found ways to sideline some of his former colleagues and treat some of them unfairly by giving them what he described as “peanuts,” while outsiders allegedly benefit more from the wealth of the Niger Delta under his control.

Apostle Ezekiel Daniel also alleged that Tompolo’s younger brothers, whom he said had no role in the Niger Delta struggle, are receiving billions of naira monthly, while some former agitator leaders have been completely sidelined and others receive only small benefits from the pipeline surveillance contract, which he said should benefit everyone.

“We will continue to escalate these issues of Tompolo’s alleged crimes against the Ijaw people until they are addressed,” Apostle Ezekiel Daniel said. He added that petitions had so far been submitted to several international security bodies and Amnesty International, which he said operates in more than 50 countries.

He further said his civil society partners in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States are also aware of the allegations and would look into the matter for proper investigation, with the aim of ensuring that anyone found responsible faces the law.
