At about 11:30 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026, Samson Tunde Tamara-Ebikemiyane was abducted from his home on Jakpa Road, Warri. This was done on the orders of Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) through Godfrey Pondi, the General Manager of Tantita Security Services. Armed men broke into his house, forced open the doors, and pointed guns at his family, demanding that Samson get dressed and follow them. He was blindfolded and taken away to an unknown place.
Days passed, and Samson’s family had no idea where he was. Then, someone contacted me and informed me of the kidnapping. I reached out to a family member, who explained the terrifying experience. She confirmed that it was not an arrest, but a violent kidnapping. The family began searching for Samson at nearly every police station in the area. They finally received a tip to check at the Okere Ugborikoko police station.
A Surprising Discovery at the Police Station
At first, a female officer at the Okere Ugborikoko police station confirmed that Samson was there. However, she quickly changed her story, saying he had been taken by men from Tantita Security Services. She told the family it was no longer a police matter. To their shock, the police handed over Samson's ATM card to the family, allowing them access to his account to support his family during this crisis.
The police at Okere Ugborikoko may have made mistake by revealing to the family that Samson had been brought to the station and then taken away. They even handed over his ATM card, which could have led to his safe return. Without this information, Samson might have become just another missing person in Ijaw land, with no trace of what happened to him.
Samson’s Only Crime
So, what was Samson’s crime? He, along with his group, made a video about the decentralization of the pipeline surveillance contract. They argued that, as former oil bunkers, they should be included to benefit also. In the video, they called on Ijaw leaders to help them be part of the surveillance program. This angered Tompolo and his gangs.
In retaliation, Tompolo and his gang began hunting down Samson and others in his group. They sent armed men to intimidate and even try to assassinate them. This is when Samson was kidnapped on that fateful night.
Raising the Alarm and Samson’s Return
When the news of Samson’s disappearance spread, we raised the alarm and gave Tompolo and his gang 48 hours to release him. We threatened to expose all the details of his abduction to the public. Afte 24hours, Samson was returned to Warri and taken to Godfrey Pondi, the GM of Tantita Security. Godfrey complained bitterly about the situation going viral on social media and demanded that Samson clear Tompolo’s name and the Ugborikoko police station.
Samson is still being threatened to deny the kidnapping and clear Tompolo’s name. His phones remain in the possession of Godfrey Pondi. The public should know that if anything happens to Samson or his group, Tompolo, Kestin, and Godfrey Pondi will be held responsible for it. Their actions have put lives in danger, and they must be held accountable.
Godfrey Pondi has been involved in many kidnappings and killings carried out by Tantita Security Services in the Niger Delta. Bodmas Kemepadei who kidnapped Balamene Karowei and the murder of Patrick Peresuodei is directly under the command of Godfrey.
Tantita is a Terrorist Organization
Tantita Security Services is a terrorist organization, and they are using the funds from the pipeline surveillance contracts to fuel terrorist activities. People from the Niger Delta have gone missing, and Tantita is responsible. There are even videos online showing their men beheading Nigerians. Their actions are barbaric, and they must be stopped.
The Police’s Role in Kidnapping and Assassination
Tompolo and his gang have turned Nigerian police officers and NSCDC members into accomplices in their crimes. These officers, who were supposed to protect the public, are now involved in kidnapping and assassination activities. The Nigerian government must take immediate action to withdraw all security personnel attached to Tompolo and his gang to prevent further crimes.
I believe that Tompolo and his gang’s days of reckoning are near. There is no doubt that the law will catch up with them, whether on a national or international level. They will eventually pay for their crimes against humanity, and justice will be served.
A Call to Exclude Tompolo from Pipeline Contracts
I call on the Nigerian government, specifically the Tinubu administration, to exclude Tompolo and Tantita from the pipeline surveillance contracts. They are using the proceeds from these contracts to fund terrorism and cause suffering in the Niger Delta. The government must act to protect the people of the region and ensure that the funds are not misused.
The President must decentralize the pipeline surveillance contracts across the Niger Delta states. Allowing stakeholders and host communities to manage the contracts would ensure a fair distribution of resources and reduce the harm caused by centralizing the contracts in the hands of a few individuals. This is essential for the peace and security of the Niger Delta region.
For the sake of national security and peace, it is necessary to decentralize the pipeline surveillance contracts. This would help restore balance and fairness, reduce the suffering of local communities, and promote a safer environment for all. The government must prioritize the well-being of the people and ensure that the resources are managed responsibly.
