...His Gun Was Disarmed by a Woman During the Niger Delta Struggle
The latest controversy followed a public outburst by Ebi Pinapinawei, popularly known as Com Perewikle, against Ebikabowei Victor-Ben, widely known as Gen. Boyloaf.
His comments have drawn a strong response from a youth in Ezetu community, with some accusing him of going beyond the disagreement and into what they described as deliberate attacks against the former militant leader.
Speaking from Ezetu Kingdom, Chiko Emmanuel responded to Perewikle, accusing him of having a selective memory and allowing immediate financial difficulties to influence his position on issues involving Niger Delta leaders.
Emmanuel laughed at Pinapinawei for calling himself a General, It is laughable, and he gave a little history about Pinapinawei.
"When you were in the Gen. Alex Barrack in Ekeni, you were put at a duty post to guard. You slept off, and a woman walking by saw you sleeping and took your gun from you and submitted it to the camp leader.
When you woke up and were asked about your gun, you started crying and didn't know what to say. You were flogged and driven out of the camp. Then you started picking periwinkle to sustain yourself.
When you couldn't take care of yourself, you started stealing people's gravel in the community. You were beaten again, and you ran to Yenagoa to stay until the struggle was over.
Na who come make you General? Very laughable." Emmanuel Stated.
Regarding the Ekeni boy who died that Perewikle talked about, that boy was also an Ezetu boy. His father was from Ezetu. The death was not intentional, and Boyloaf sanctioned the person who caused the death at the time. The family in Ezetu stood by him and buried him.
Perewikle is being very foolish for using this incident against Gen. Boyloaf. Emmanuel Stated.
Emmanuel also challenged Perewikle’s and others who claim that Gen. Boyloaf failed to intervene during the arrest of Ezekiel Daniel Perela Osia.
According to Emmanuel, Ezekiel’s troubles were connected to his previous association with the camp of Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and not to any relationship with Boyloaf.
Emmanuel said Ezekiel spent about two years in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) because of Tompolo and he was eventually released through the intervention of human rights advocates rather than the faction he had previously defended.
“Ezekiel Daniel never worked with Boyloaf, nor did he even know him personally before,” Emmanuel stated.
He added that even when Ezekiel previously appeared online to attack Boyloaf and other Niger Delta leaders while defending Tompolo, Boyloaf did not move against him or arrest him.
“Even when Ezekiel previously came online to insult Boyloaf and other Niger Delta leaders in defense of Tompolo, Boyloaf never sought to arrest or oppress him. Boyloaf does not believe in using power to crush those who offend him,” Emmanuel said.
According to the Ezetu youth, Ezekiel’s later decision to turn against his former allies, Tompolo, was based on his personal convictions after allegedly witnessing what he described as widespread abuses against Ijaw youths.
“Nobody sent Ezekiel to fight,” Emmanuel explained. “Neither Boyloaf nor Jude directed him. Ezekiel acted as an insider who saw atrocities being committed against our people and decided to speak out based on his own convictions.”
He questioned why Boyloaf should be blamed for Ezekiel’s arrest when, according to him, the same people who arrested Ezekiel were leaders he had previously defended and supported.
“How do you turn around and blame Boyloaf when the very people who arrested Ezekiel were the same leaders he once risked his life to defend?” Emmanuel asked.
Emmanuel also defended Boyloaf’s approach to helping people, saying the former militant leader does not always publicise his interventions or seek recognition on social media.
“Even Though Boyloaf is helping Ezekiel Daniel on the issue he will not be looking for cheap social media praises,” he said, adding that Ezekiel had never asked Pinapinawei aka Perewikle for help in the first place.
The statement also brought back an older dispute involving youths from Pinapinawei community, Ekeni Kingdom.
Emmanuel recalled an incident in which several Ekeni youths were detained for more than eight months allegedly by Tompolo. He said the youths were eventually released through court proceedings and later publicly claimed that they had been pressured to implicate Gen. Boyloaf.
According to Emmanuel, this happened before the current disagreements between the different sides emerged.
He further claimed that when Ekeni leader sought help in securing the release of the detained youths, Boyloaf quietly supported the legal process that eventually led to their release.
“When your own brothers from Ekeni were held for eight months and later revealed how they were forced to frame Boyloaf, you said absolutely nothing,” Emmanuel said.
“Yet when the video of their testimony was shared, you chose to attack those who brought the truth to light. That kind of selective outrage is dangerous, and you need to reflect on it before it destroys you.”
Emmanuel ended his response by telling Perewikle to stay away from disputes that, in his view, were beyond him and instead focus on his personal well-being.
“This issue is far bigger than you,” Emmanuel warned.
He accused Pinapinawei aka Perewikle of allowing hunger, what he called “stomach infrastructure,” and small handouts to influence his actions, while also warning him against bringing what he described as disgrace to the people of Ekeni Kingdom.
“You have enough of your own burdens to deal with. Stop inserting yourself into conflicts that will only spike your blood pressure. Consider yourself warned,” Emmanuel concluded.
